nasi goreng

This is a kind of Malaysian fried rice.

250 g chicken
~2/3 c mixed vegetables (carrots, peas)
1 onion
2 eggs
2 c rice
2 packets "Nasi Goreng" ("Adabi" brand good)

Have a wok ready and hot. A rice cooker makes things easier.

Chop and fry meat. Cook vegetables until soft. Start rice. Dice and fry onion.
Scramble and fry eggs. Set aside each ingredient as it's finished. When the
rice is ready, put the nasi goreng paste into the wok, then mix in rice well,
then add meat, onions, and veggies in that order. Serve with egg scattered on
top. Serves 2 hungry people.

FYI: nasi goreng is a paste made from some sea creature. It has a very
distinctive smell, and a not-so-distinctive-but-salty taste.
