Aye, he's got Highlander blood!

I've always found Gaelic culture very fascinating, and recently learned that I do indeed have some Scottish ancestors, from Clan MacRae:
BADGE: Club moss.
MOTTO: Fortitudine (With fortitude).
WAR CRY: Sgur urain! (a mountain in Kintail)
PIPE MUSIC: MacRae's March
The name MacRae, meaning "son of grace," is thought to be of ecclesiastical origin. The clan originated in Beauly in Invernesshire, but removed to Kintail on the west coast of Scotland in the 14th century.
The MacRaes were loyal followers of the Mackenzies, Lord of Kintail and Earls of Seaforth, and the clan became known as "Mackenzie's Shirt of Mail." The MacRaes became constables of the Mackenzie's chief stronghold, Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich, and also Chamberlains of Kintail. The clan did not rise for Charles Edward in 1745, but many individual members took part in the Rising.

what's in a name?

[from http://www.kabalarians.com]
Your name of Adrian gives you the ability to understand people and to merge conflicting viewpoints to create harmony in association. You dislike facing issues or witnessing hurt feelings. You make friends easily but must guard against becoming involved or being too easily led. You could do well working with the public giving advice, but find it difficult to make snap decisions and to occupy a leadership position as you lack confidence and you are indecisive. You dislike a great deal of heavy manual work; you are inclined to put plans off until forced to take action. You find it difficult to be systematic in business and you dislike budgeting. When on your own, you lack the energy, confidence, or initiative required to bring an idea to fruition.
[Amazingly, this isn't as far off as it could be. Of course, all of their summaries are general enough to fit anybody...]
chinese astrology - dog, water

[from http://found.cs.nyu.edu/liaos/horoscope.html]
Dog people are honest, faithful and sincere. They respect tradition and value honor, and enjoy helping people. The Dog is very righteous, and always is the first to speak out against injustice. He is not good at socializing with friends, and rarely shines in company, but he is intelligent, caring and a good listener.
Loyal, faithful and honest, he has the most profound sense of duty. You can count on him and he'll never let you down. And as a good listener, the Dog is also very reliable in keeping secrets for others. He simply doesn't like to gossip.
The Dog is an agreeable companion - when he is in a good mood. But when panic strikes, he can turn nasty, and bark till he is tired. He can be judgmental, defensive and picky if you rub him the wrong way, but as long as you know how to pet and massage him, the Dog makes absolutely the best and most honorable companion on earth.
Dogs are born old and get younger as they age. They take everything very serious. You may hear the Dog complains a lot about street lamps, about traffic, or about weather, but as he gets older, the less he takes his own criticisms seriously.
When the fear becomes reality, Dogs go a little crazy. The Dog enters a relationship where he is the giver and the partner is the taker. He is usually very generous and loyal, and in love, he is honest and straightforward. But he will have romantic problems all his life - it's his own fault, really: he leads himself by his emotional instability and his eternal anxiety. He is a worrier.
[This is so true, it's frightening.]
Other Dogs: Schoenberg, Winston Churchill, Al Jolson, George Gershwin, Michael Jackson (ouch!), Alfred Eisenstadt, Madonna, Debussy.

Your symbol, the lion, the king of beasts, has long been equated with your ruler, the Sun, king of the planets. Only the sun, the vital life force and the superstar of our solar system, emits light. You're naturally inclined to be in the spotlight on stage -- center stage. You project the confidence, nobility, strength, virility, and courage of the lion. Like the kings and queens of old, you feel it's your birthright to be in the center of affairs, with all others dependent upon you for leadership, guidance and solar energy. You love the enhanced sense of self that wielding power gives you, and you'll create ways to gain the position of leadership you feel you deserve.
Your keyword is RECOGNITION. You're happiest when others acknowledge your abilities, power, magnificence and authority. If they do, you'll be able to establish your place among the elite of the hierarchy. In your world, you make the rules, expecting everyone else to follow them if they wish to play your game. You're capable of expressing yourself in all your resplendent glory and make an even wider impression, which is your motivation. Taken to an extreme, your natural tendencies could lead to excessive egotism and the will to dominate and conquer without any concern for the welfare of your "subjects." The warning signs to watch for are stubbornness, dogmatism and biting sarcasm.
