16.09Networking and Miscellaneous. This last week was an exciting one on the internet connection front. We got DSL. I set up my machine to act as a router, firewall, and web and e-mail server. Just think, the file you're looking at now is actually sitting on my computer, in my apartment! That's a nice feeling. I learned a lot, so I'm working on a tutorial which should smooth the bumps for anyone else. Props to ZoneEdit, who is handling my DNS, and Gandi, who is my domain name registrar. Also to logjamming, who hosted my site for most of last year. |
