21.08Okay... here's what happened the last week, straight up, no humor or anything. I arrived in Lavanga on Friday night to see Camilla. The next day we visited the small towns in the area. The weather was terrible. Sunday we saw Genova. Monday morning the weather improved, and I took the train to Bologna to meet Francesca, Daniel, and Robby. That night we had a picnic in the hills and watched a meteor shower. The next morning we toured Bologna, then saw Venice that afternoon. Then that night we went to Francavilla. I spent three days there. I sprained my big toe playing soccer, and got a really bad sunburn on my back. Friday evening we drove to Rome. Saturday we toured Rome, spent another night there, and drove back to Francavilla Sunday morning. Sunday evening I caught the train to Venice, then the plane to London, then the plane to Houston, then a shuttle to the other airport, then the plane to Austin. So all in all my return trip was 32 hours. Italy was fantastic. I've decided to do my masters in Bologna. Read on for more commentary from the last weeks. See also the photos section (which is at the moment missing Rome photos and some titles). |
